First off, I wanted to bring the news that the movie will be coming out on November 18 2016. Only 666 days left! (that # is ... questionable :P) J.K. Rowling said that the movie will take place in New York, around 1920, seventy years before the Harry Potter series, and will feature "Newton Scamander" (the presented "author" of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) as a main character. It's unsure whether the rest of the movie will be set in New York. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them tells us that Scamander has been travelling the world in research of magical creatures.

J.K. Rowling mentioned that is was unlikely for Daniel Radcliffe to have a part in this movie ( :O )
because it takes place long before Harry was born. He might have a part playing the Potters or Peverells.
